2. Newfound welcomes the following students:
Autism Spectrum, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia, Bipolar, and Emotional Challenges. Other students may be considered on a case by case basis. The main criteria for acceptance is will the student benefit from our school and can the school and parents work together to create a successful school program.

3. Small class sizes - Newfound has no class larger than five students. Each child is under the direct supervision of one of our Executive Directors who are experts in special needs students. Additionally, Newfound is proud of our experienced, quality staff who know how to teach and how to meet the needs of students with challenges in a professional and caring manner.

4. Achievement - On the average students increase achievement in reading and math by one grade level during an academic year.

5. Curriculum - Newfound has a challenging curriculum with a scope and sequence for grades Prekindergarten through grade 12. We believe in testing and assessment and each student is given individual instruction in reading and math. Also, students are provided grade appropriate instruction in science and social studies.

6. Communication skills, social skills, self advocacy, and character education are incorporated into our academic curriculum.

7. Student activities -Newfound is proud to have a dynamic student council that has raised funds for school and community projects. We have a Fall Festival at our school, Pizza Days, School Socials for middles and high school students, and other fun activities throughout the year.

8. What makes Newfound School special?
We are professional educators with a proven record of achievement and success with special needs children. We use an educational model with a variety of strategies and teaching methods. We focus on education and not therapies because we believe that this is the primary purpose of school. Therapies have their place for some children. However, they are considered a “related service” as defined by IDEA. Therapies should supplement educational goals not be the goal itself.
